Longwood Gardens, first take

as I am writing this post I am realizing I forgot to note what each of these kinds of flowers is.  big mistake.  for those of you who are horticulturally minded (or those of you who spent way, way, way too much time studying for Envirothon back in high school) please let me know what the heck these pretty dirty things are.

tina and I stopped by Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA this past sunday just to stop and smell the pollen.  luckily I’m not allergic to flower pollen of all things, and neither is the 100mm L IS macro lens.  the ISO capabilities of the 5D Mark II and the image stabilization on the 100L Macro really allow you to get the depth of field you need to get macro shots that don’t blur out past the first millimeter.

I’ll probably be putting out more shots from Longwood Gardens over the next few days with different themes, but for today it’s pretty much traditionalist flower shots

      yeah I like that one too, it really pops. in terms of the flowers themselves, I like the ones in the leading shot, really want to figure out what the heck they are
